This Paschal sermon of John Chrysostom is preached in numerous denominations around the globe on Easter Sunday. This submission is the portion used for Sunrise Service by Rev. Annette (Taft) Fraser.
To those who have chosen Christ as their Lord and Savior, let us enter into the joy of our Lord on this glorious day.
To those who love God, let us enjoy this beautiful glorious Day!
To those who are grateful servants: Let us rejoice in the joy of our Lord!
No matter when you came to Christ and believed in Him, years ago, or only recently, this glorious Day with all that it means is ours, OURS through HIM!
Let us all enter into the joy of the Lord! And enjoy all the riches of His goodness this glorious Resurrection Day!
Let no one be sad about poverty, for the universal kingdom has been revealed! Let no one be sad that he has fallen again and again; for forgiveness has risen from the grave!
Let no one fear death, for the death of Jesus has freed us all!
Let no one be downcast because of current circumstances because,
THE CHRIST WHO TRIUMPHED OVER SIN AND DEATH AND HELL IS ALIVE AND WORKING ON OUR BEHALF, OUR SAVIOUR, OUR BROTHER, AND OUR FRIEND—AMEN!!!!!
Hell was in an uproar that day because, by His resurrection, it has no power! It was in an uproar, because it is mocked! It was in an uproar, for it is destroyed! It is in an uproar, for it is annihilated! It is in an uproar, for it is now made captive! O death, where is thy sting? O Hell, where is thy victory? Christ is Risen, and you, o death, are annihilated! Christ is Risen, and the evil one is cast down! Christ is Risen, and the angels rejoice! Christ is Risen, and life is liberated!
Christ is Risen, and there are no more dead in the grave!
For Christ, having risen from the dead, has become the first-born of those have fallen asleep!
Christ is Risen, and Salvation is ours for the receiving.
Christ is Risen, and eternity is in our hearts.
Christ is Risen, and because He lives, we also live.
Christ is Risen, and the same power that raised Him from the grave is available to work in you and me to do His precious will! To Him be Glory and Power forever and ever. Amen!
